STATS and Danish Superliga enter tracking deal with Viasat and SBS Discovery
STATS LLC will become the first provider of live tracking data for all Danish Superliga games after agreeing a multi-season deal with leading Scandinavian broadcasters Viasat and SBS Discovery. STATS’ SportVU technology will elevate the level of performance analysis in the top tier of Danish football by making Superliga data available across the media and pro markets. Connecting broadcasters, teams and fans with in-depth performance information, STATS’ tracking data will be delivered via a range of innovative digital platforms.
“Viasat chose STATS because of the easy-to-use SportVU® system, the breadth of available data for journalists and the integration with our graphics engine,” said Max Andersen, Sports Director at TV3 Sport. “Viasat is now looking forward to evolving the fan experience with SportVU’s accurate data, visual effects and web service integration.”
The tracking data collected by the SportVU system will be made available to Superliga clubs via the elite analytical systems of Prozone, the performance analysis company recently acquired by STATS. Presenting a range of unique technical and physical metrics, Prozone’s professional football products contextualise raw data to deliver unique performance insights.
STATS will also work closely with Superliga.dk to engage fans with detailed team and player data, delivering an immersive analysis experience across multiple markets and platforms.
“Our agreement with Viasat and SBS represents the first example of STATS’ industry leading SportVU tracking technology working hand-in-hand with Prozone’s performance analysis solutions,” said Ryan Paterson, Managing Director of Prozone. “We see this convergence of media and pro services as key to our differentiated offering for progressive league and broadcast partners.”
