Supponor and TGI Sport deliver first-ever virtual advertising deployment for the Hellenic Football Federation

Supponor has delivered the first-ever deployment of its cutting-edge virtual advertising (VA) technology for the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF), the governing body of Greek football, during the Greek men’s national team UEFA Nations League fixture between Ireland and Greece, held at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on 10 September.

This first use of virtual advertising technology in Greek football significantly expands the HFF’s commercial inventory portfolio. By offering enhanced visibility to brands and sponsors during their matches, the federation is able to unlock new revenue streams and increase its global marketing reach.

The virtual advertising production was conducted on-site at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, with the virtual feed distributed to viewers on Alpha TV and Nova in Greece. Delivered as a seamless downstream integration, Greek fans watching at home experienced targeted, region-specific advertising content overlaid onto the physical pitch-side boards in Dublin.

Commercially and technically proven, Supponor AIR provides football organisations, leagues and clubs with a flexible marketing tool to position themselves at the forefront of technical innovation, enhance their commercial inventory and provide sponsors and brand partners with targeted and global reach into local markets.

The production allowed for the latest addition to Supponor’s portfolio of football federations globally that have adopted its advertising technology, with over a dozen across Europe, North America, Latin America and the Middle East having implemented the solution at more than 50 national team matches to date.

“We are thrilled to be able to deliver our services to the Hellenic Football Federation as part of our growing roster of partner federations,” said Massimo Magrì, chief commercial officer at Supponor. “This deployment showcases the increasing adoption of our AIR technology across international football, enabling federations to maximise their commercial potential regardless of match location.”

“The introduction of the new technology of VBR is a unique moment for Hellenic Football Federation as this will be the first time ever that it has been used for an away match of the Greece National Team, with an equally unique impact to the entire Greek football market. It is an innovative and pioneering marketing method which boosts today’s dynamic business landscape and constitutes an advanced opportunity for our clients”, said Maria Gkouma, marketing & commercial director of Hellenic Football Federation.
