SVG co-produced LIVETV:LA event scheduled for 7 November

Taking place at Loews Hollywood Hotel in California on 7 November, LIVETV:LA is the first conference dedicated to programming and technology innovations in live television sports, entertainment, news and social media. Co-produced by Sports Video Group, LIVETV:LA’s schedule will incorporate a session dedicated to live programming prior to the main live television event, featuring E! Red Carpet Show producer Eddie Delbridge and Tournament of Roses COO Ed Corey.

“More and more networks are finding that the event itself isn’t the only thing drawing viewers as red-carpet and pregame shows continue to connect with viewers. These groundbreaking producers and technology experts will discuss how they approach the production of these events and how they look to create a first-class look with a special focus on two groundbreaking case studies: the Tournament of Roses Parade and E! Red Carpet Shows,” explains conference co-chair and SVG editorial director Ken Kerschbaumer.

Presented by Sports Video Group (SVG) and TVNewsCheck, in association with Variety and Variety 411, the day-long event will gather leading executives, producers, and production professionals who are involved in TV’s hottest market, LiveTV, for the first time sharing case studies and thought leadership from traditional broadcast to OTT distribution markets.

Eddie Delbridge, executive producer, E! Red Carpet Shows, started producing live red-carpet shows in the early days of E! Entertainment Television, when Joan and Melissa Rivers ruled the red carpet. He has since produced nearly every major live red carpet for a variety of marquee programs, including The Academy Awards, The Golden Globe Awards, The Primetime Emmys, The Grammys, The Screen Actors Guild Awards, The Met Art Gala, The Teen Choice Awards, The Kids Choice Awards, The Latin Billboard Awards, The American Country Awards, The Kids Choice Sports Awards, The American Music Awards, and many more. He was part of the groundbreaking team at E! that launched the Glam Cam 360 and a variety of other technical innovations, which have since become a fixture on many red carpets.

Ed Corey, COO, Tournament of Roses, has produced the Rose Bowl Game for the Tournament of Roses for 20 years. His work includes formulating and executing all aspects of the internal event production, including talent acquisition, timing, broadcaster liaising, budgeting and stage direction. He also serves as the show runner for the pre-game events. Corey was named chief operating officer for the Tournament of Roses Association this year and will coordinate the overall event operation of the 2015 Rose Parade, including staging the opening show for broadcast on live television as well as overall production elements of the events.

These industry leaders join an A-list of live-television executives who are helping launch this inaugural industry event. Keynoters are Robert Greenblatt, chairman, NBC Entertainment, and David Neal, executive producer, FIFA World Cup (Fox Sports). Other confirmed speakers include David Hill (chairman, National Geographic Channels, and producer, American Idol), Stacey Foster (co-producer, Saturday Night Live), Jeff Jacobs (SVP, MTV), Larry Meyers (executive producer, Time Warner Cable), David B. Williams (chief content strategist, Endemol Beyond), Rebecca Campbell (president, ABC Stations Group), Jack Simmons (SVP, Fox Sports), Hank Neuberger (Grammys) and many more.

Other LIVETV:LA conference sessions will explain: what’s new in live TV production technologies and techniques; how to maximise revenue for multiscreen live events; proven ways to use social media to drive ratings and analyse data; and how to expand the live TV experience before and after the show.

The event will also offer a technology showcase of creative tools for live television production from solutions and service providers including Bexel, PRG, Anvato, Aspera, B&H, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Clark Media, Clear-Com, EVS, Orad, AMV, NEP, Newtek, VER and SOS.
