SVG Europe announces full programme and first speakers for Sports Venue Technology Summit 2016

SVGE_SportsVTSummitSlider2016 480pxThe first SVG Europe technology summit of 2016 will take place during Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) – the world’s biggest AV, systems integration and communication exhibition – on the morning of 11 February. Topics to be explored include new approaches to fan engagement, AV-IT integration, event preparation, temporary overlay and more.

As with the previous two years’ Sport Facility Integration Summit, the Sports Venue Technology Summit is a collaboration between SVG Europe and renowned audio consultant and RH Consulting founder Roland Hemming. As the revised event title implies, the new-format summit will look more closely at all manner of technologies involved in the modern stadium – from intercom and messaging, to high-capacity WiFi, to broadcast-related infrastructure.

Providing a recurring thread throughout the half-day event, Hemming will lead an expert panel to discuss ‘a day in the life’ of a stadium. In three sections, key stakeholders in the broadcasting of a hypothetical major sports event from an arena or stadium – including a head of technology, venue manager, consultant/architect and broadcast services provider – will explore common challenges and collaborative processes.

SVG Europe managing editor David Davies will moderate a session addressing new technologies and techniques designed to deepen fan engagement in sports events, with contributors including NewTek senior director of global product marketing Ellen Camloh. Meanwhile, The P.A. People managing director Chris Dodds will be among the panellists for a session examining the continued evolution of temporary overlay – in other words, the elements that are added to permanent buildings to enable the staging of major sports fixtures or other events.

SVG Europe is also delighted to announce that its media partner for the event will be Pan Stadia & Arena Management magazine, the acclaimed publication covering the business of stadia, arenas, sports events and venue on a global scale.

More speakers – including a scene-setting keynote – will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information, and to register, please visit https://www.svgeurope.org/svts-europe-2016/.
