SVG Europe Audio announces Cloud Audio Forum taking place on 17 February live online

SVG Europe is pleased to announce the first SVG Europe Audio event of 2022, the Cloud Audio Forum.

Taking place live online on 17 February at 3pm (UK time), this event will explore where audio sits in today’s cloud ecosystem, and if it is being left behind the video pack.

Chaired by Roger Charlesworth, speakers include Sky Sports’ A1 technical specialist Alex Judd, Harry Brown, Sky Sports sound supervisor, as well as Martin Dyster, vice president of business development at Telos Alliance.

This event, supported by title sponsor Telos Alliance with TSL Products as registration sponsor, will take a closer look at what the cloud offers today, what is being deployed, and where audio stands in the scheme of all things cloud.

Cloud-based media services are exploding in sports broadcasting. Industry leaders are embracing the technology to enable more flexible ways of producing live content, including remote and decentralised workflows.

While content creators in areas such as esports were quick to use the cloud, others have taken up the mantle in more recent years, with the global pandemic creating a catalyst that has seen a rapid rise in the commercial use of cloud services.

While video and audio are both being pushed over the cloud today, the former is leading the way in terms of sophisticated solutions and uptake. But is audio in the cloud lagging behind the development for video in cloud-based solutions?

More speakers will be announced soon.
