SVG Europe welcomes Finepoint Broadcast as latest sponsor
SVG Europe is delighted to announce a new addition to the ranks of the OB/SI sponsor category in the form of Finepoint Broadcast. Based in Kingswood, Surrey, UK, Finepoint Broadcast is an independent rental and sales house, specialising in broadcast equipment for the OB, sports and live events communities.
In business for more than 30 years, the company is family owned and run. It has a strong reputation throughout the industry for high quality and reliable equipment, and has over many years consistently supplied the latest technology from the major manufacturers to accommodate the changing needs of the marketplace. For example, it was the first company in Europe to take stock of Canon’s 4K box lens, the UJ90x9, and will continue to invest in 4K this year.
Managing director Giles Bendig comments: “Our reliability [in terms of] the rental and sales business has come from our fully-equipped service department operated by a team of highly qualified and experienced engineers. Part of their job is to make sure equipment is turned around quickly and efficiently so that the next customer receives fully checked, functioning and clean equipment, as they should do. Finepoint also carries out third-party repair and service work at very competitive rates – something our clients our keen to take advantage of. So we can truly provide an all-round service.”
The company’s hire and sales teams continue to work on major sports events, with recent projects including The 6 Nations, FA Cup, Champions League and Rugby World Cup. At present, “we are focusing our attention on the forthcoming Cheltenham Festival, Grand National, Euros and The Olympics, so it will be a busy year for us,” says Bendig.
Explaining the decision to join SVG Europe at this point in the company’s development, Bendig says that the impetus came from attending FutureSport 2015 last December. “We realised most of our clients attend these events and it was a great way of networking with them and other potential leads that are relevant to our existing market, as well as new markets that we are trying to get into. We were impressed with how the events were put together and the relevant topics that were discussed, and because it’s important for Finepoint to push into new and existing markets, along with maintaining our relationships with our clients, we felt we could not refuse the SVG Europe sponsorship. We are already looking forward to attending the next SVG Europe event.”
