SVG Europe welcomes new Gold Sponsor Ostmodern
SVG Europe is delighted to announce a new Gold Sponsor in the form of Ostmodern, a broadcast content expert and Europe’s most established player in digital product design and video delivery. With offices in the UK and the US, Ostmodern works with major global sports, broadcast and entertainment brands to design and build services and devise product strategies that drive higher consumer engagement across desktop, mobile, and TV.
In recent times, Ostmodern has launched its Skylark platform. Skylark is a one-stop-shop for broadcasters and rights owners looking to enhance their OTT and video offerings. It’s typically deployed for end-to-end content delivery, and is built from the ground up to support an editorial-led approach to scheduling and recommendations. Skylark offers the flexibility of a bespoke platform with the freedom to design a unique front-end experience, which drives higher audience engagement and return on investment, which is one of the major shortcomings of typical white-label solutions.
Major sports organisations, broadcasters and content providers are enhancing the development and delivery of their OTT products using Skylark. This is in response to the fact Ostmodern has been a major provider in the global broadcast space for over a decade. Ostmodern has worked with a variety of household brands including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Virgin Media, and sports organisations such as AFL, Arsenal and BT Sport.
Ostmodern has invested greatly in sports over the past years and recently announced two senior hires. Stuart Ferreira-Cole has been appointed as commercial director to lead the company’s revenue growth, whilst Heather Taylor joins at head of sports partnerships, joining from Sport England, where she worked with 46 National Governing Bodies in the UK, as well as international federations including World Rugby, USA Rugby and GEMBA Sport and Entertainment.
Explaining the decision to join Ostmodern at this point in the company’s evolution, Ostmodern CEO Tom Williams remarks: “As rights holders understand the full potential of OTT and the value it can generate for new audiences there is the opportunity for Ostmodern to remove the complexity from the video ecosystem. From content production, acquisition to delivery and user experience more and more companies need to help simplify the message and help generate quicker return on investments. Ostmodern launches solutions that involve a complex mix of partners and suppliers on a regular basis. Working with SVG Europe feels like the right blend of partners and rights holders to help drive this objective forward.”
