SVG Europe Women and Sky Sports announce Elevating Women in Sport in-person event on 5 July

Comparing notes and contacts at the SVG Europe Women summer event 2019 with Sky Sports and Sky Production Services

Sky Sports and SVG Europe Women are excited to announce Elevating Women in Sport, an in-person event taking place at Sky Central in West London on the afternoon of Tuesday 5 July 2022.

The event, being held in association with Sky Sports, will feature a keynote on representation on and off the camera. This will be followed by a discussion about how European broadcasters approach their women’s sports rights and how much we really know about female fans and how to engage them, as well as the chance to get hands-on with broadcasting kit and speak to operators.

Doors will open at 3pm with speakers taking the stage at 4pm, beginning with a keynote on representing society on and off the camera. This will be followed by a panel titled Maximising the growth of the women’s game.

Speakers will explore how European broadcasters approach their women’s sports rights, how much is dictated by the men’s game, and how much we really know about female fans and how to engage them.

After a Q&A with the audience we will then move onto an opportunity to get hands on behind the scenes. There are many exciting roles available in sports broadcasting behind the camera, so guests will be invited to network and will also be given the opportunity to get hands-on with broadcasting kit outside in the sun, and talk to trained operators about their roles.
