SVG Europe Women: Developing female leaders in sports broadcasting workshop to take place at Football Summit 2026

SVG Europe Women is hosting a specialised leadership workshop at the Football Summit 2026, which takes place at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, Liverpool on 26 February.

SVG Europe Women’s workshop, titled ‘Developing female leaders in sports broadcasting’ will be led by senior female executives and mentors from Sky Sports, Premier League Productions, and FilmNova.

Using the experiences of our speakers, this workshop will explore leadership pathways in sports broadcasting and equip participants with the skills to grow into senior roles. It will cover communication for confidence, strategies for handling bias, and the value of supportive networks.

Starting at 10.15am, attendees will gain insight into key technical skills and learn how to lead effectively in high-pressure live environments from out speakers, Lowri Davies, Premier League Productions’ director of broadcast services, Nia Wyn Thomas, Sky Sports’ football senior producer, and Alison Lombardi, FilmNova’s head of production and executive producer.

Guests will be split into three groups at the beginning of the workshop. In a relaxed and informal environment, each group will spend time with each speaker in turn, listening to the speaker’s own experiences and views on leadership, then being able to ask questions in a friendly and safe discussion before moving onto the next speaker.

The main programme at Football Summit 2026 begins at 11.30am with a plethora of football production-related content. Later in the day, guests will be able to watch FilmNova’s Lombardi on stage discussing the production company’s new vision for coverage of the Women’s FA Cup for Channel 4. From editorial philosophy to production execution, Lombardi will explore how this broadcast is being built, what it takes to engage new and existing audiences, and how progressive production choices can help accelerate growth and visibility for the women’s game.
