SVG Europe’s FutureSport 2013: BT Sport, Vizrt, deltatre to talk the Big Business of Big Data

‘Big data’ is undoubtedly one of the industry terms du jour – but what does it actually mean, and how can it be translated into big business? In a dedicated session at next month’s FutureSport event in London, four leading industry figures will mull over the present and future of ‘big data’ in sports broadcasting.

Video and audio signals have made the move to becoming digital bits and, as a result, it’s now possible to apply ‘big data’ workflows and analysis to them, making it easier than ever to tell the story of athletic competition in more exciting and valuable ways.

Part of SVG Europe’s FutureSport event – taking place at The Kia Oval on 3 December – the ‘big data’ session will feature input from: Carlo de Marchis, Deltatre, Chief Product Officer and Group Director; Paul Edwards, BT Sport, Senior Product Manager for Online, Mobile and Video; and Dr. Julia Vogel Wenzin, Vizrt, VP Sports EMEA.
