SVG Europe’s FutureSport 2015 to examine Rugby World Cup innovations

A key session at this year’s FutureSport event will examine the broadcasting and viewer engagement innovations to have characterised the latest Rugby World Cup tournament. The final SVG Europe summit of 2015, FutureSport will take place at The Kia Oval, London, on 2 December.

From ticket designs that allow supporters to access 3D interactive experiences through their smartphones, to a bespoke app developed by Omnigon that delivers a wealth of additional content and background material, the Rugby World Cup 2015 has undoubtedly been the most technologically advanced tournament in the sport’s history.

With more action than ever before enjoyed online and across devices as well as through traditional linear TV, this session will deliver insight from some of the vendors, service providers and integrators who made it all happen.

Moderator and Volans Consulting director Ian Volans will be joined by panellists including: Adam Berger, CTV Outside Broadcasts, general manager; Richard Crouch, Opta Sports, head of rugby; and Neil Papworth, ITV Sport, venue technical operations manager.
