Registrants to the SVG Singapore OTT Workshop will also qualify for special discounted rates for Sportel.

SVG will host an OTT Workshop in Singapore at the Shangri La hotel on 15 March.

“The Southeast Asia marketplace is embracing OTT services at a very high rate thanks to the proliferation of digital devices and the internet,” says Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG, Editorial Director. “Our goal is to bring together thought leaders for a more informal series of discussions and presentations that provide insight into the OTT marketplace. Neulion, Twitter, Dolby, and OTT service providers will take to the stage to discuss everything from pricing, marketing, and programming strategies to next-generation experiences like HDR, 4K, and immersive audio.”

One of the highlights will be a one-on-one conversation between Ken and Chris Wagner, EVP and co-founder of Neulion on global trends in OTT services.

Aneesh Madani, Twitter, APAC Head of Sports Partnerships and Maurizio Barbieri, Twitter, Head of Sports Partnerships South East Asia, will take part in a panel discussion alongside Twitter clients to discuss how sports federations, channels, and OTT services can make the most of the Twitter platform.

“Twitter’s role in the social media landscape is an important one, and social media is increasingly a place where high-quality sports content is not only promoted but also distributed,” says Kerschbaumer. “Having Aneesh, Maurizio, and top clients close out the workshop is a great way to end the day.”

The event will also feature a presentation by Pankaj Kedia, Sr., Dolby, Director for Emerging Markets on the current state of next-generation video and audio experiences via Dolbyvision and Dolby Atmos.

“The OTT marketplace is in a great position to deliver next-generation sports content in new ways as it can deliver an experience that includes better resolution, better colors, and more immersive audio more easily than the traditional broadcast and cable marketplace,” says Kerschbaumer. “Pankaj is one of the leading experts in the region and we are glad to give attendees a chance to learn more about how Dolby is transforming the sports OTT experience.

Adds Kedia, Sr.: “Dolby has always been at the forefront of transforming the entertainment experience by advancing the science of sight and sound to create and enable spectacular experiences. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos takes the consumer experience to the next level. Adoption by the industry enables mainstream access to spectacular entertainment experiences and delivers a comprehensive solution, supported by content creators and distributors. A wide range of entertainment and live sports content is already available in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision across the globe, providing a truly immersive experience to the consumers.”

The event will be held in the conference room on the Mezzanine Level of the Shangri-La Hotel and the event is free of charge to Sportel Asia attendees.
