SVGE SportTech: production executives to consider the evolution of Olympics broadcast coverage

‘From Russia to Rio’ is the subtitle of what promises to be a fascinating insight into the development of broadcast infrastructures that have supported recent Olympic Games coverage. The session will form part of SVG Europe’s next summit event, SportTech 2014, which is scheduled to take place at London’s Emirates Stadium on 7 May.

There is no doubt that new technologies, workflows and connectivity are changing the way European broadcasters approach Olympic Games coverage, as well as yielding more options when it comes to planning production bases and the number of personnel involved.

In this session, panellists including Christine Espeland (TV2 Norway, head of Olympics), Jens Knudsen (TV2 Norway, senior director, TV2 Sports) and Richard Morgan (BBC Sport, chief engineer) will consider recent Olympic milestones and discuss what lessons can be learned from Sochi 2014 as we move towards Rio 2016 and PyeongChang 2018.

The discussion will be moderated by Sports Video Group editorial director Ken Kerschbaumer.
