Synamedia renews Bronze SVG Europe sponsorship
Synamedia has renewed its Bronze sponsorship of SVG Europe.
The company’s sports solutions extend across targeted advertising, anti-piracy, streaming platforms and business analytics. In a first of its kind, beIN recently launched the first targeted TV advertising service in MENA using its addressable advertising platform, Synamedia Iris, to create new, targeted advertising inventory. In addition, the company’s anti-piracy initiatives are helping the sports ecosystem protect rights including ContentArmor forensic watermarking and intelligence and consultancy services.
Simon Brydon, head of sport – video network, Synamedia, said: “Being part of SVG Europe provides us with the perfect platform to update key players in the sports industry on rapidly evolving developments, while offering valuable opportunities to exchange insights and learn from one another.
“With increasing numbers of sports fans choosing streaming to watch live sports, our cloud and SaaS services and solutions are designed to revitalise sports viewership across B2B distribution, D2C streaming and edge delivery while reducing total cost of ownership to maximise our customers’ ROI.
“As scalability breaks new records with Netflix’s 65 million concurrent streams for the Tyson vs. Paul fight, we’re focused on surpassing that with flawless, large-scale delivery.
“We are the only provider with end-to-end technologies that minimise latency across the delivery ecosystem so continue our pioneering work in ultra-low latency – for example our end-to-end ad insertion solution that scales seamlessly without adding extra load or any time lag.
One fast growing area is for Synamedia is its cloud services “which offer new levels of flexibility to support major sports events as well as onboarding to SaaS and managed services. These new services, which streamline operations and cut costs, are run out of Synamedia’s industry-leading 24/7 Cloud Operations Centre in Bangalore which specialises in DevOps and AI for streaming,” added Brydon.
Other technology breakthroughs include AI-driven content-aware video processing for live sports, creating the pVMAF metric which features neural networks to optimise network usage and adjust automatically for different types of sports content, and new CDN technologies that steer users to servers that deliver the best stream per watt without compromising image quality. Finally, Quortex Play AI compression framework maximises energy efficiency for video processing by tapping into unused Spot capacity and dynamically shutting down any services that are not needed.
