Telestream integrates media-encoding software, intros new live-streaming-production features

Telestream announced new partner integrations for its Episode media encoding software products. Direct export from Adobe Premiere Pro provides access to Episode’s vast range of formats and enables centralization of encoding functions for post-production companies, artists, and operators. Integration with axle 1.0 brings affordable media management and high-quality encoding to a greater number of production teams.

Direct export from the Adobe Premiere Pro timeline will greatly benefit Adobe Creative Suite users by providing easy access to Episode’s high quality encoding engine and extensive format support. For creative facilities, Episode provides an easy way to offload encoding tasks to other systems or to centralize encoding functions for a workgroup of edit stations on an encoding cluster.

axle video LLC is a startup focused on making media management simple and cost effective for small to mid-sized production workgroups. Enabling access to Episode’s single or multi-system transcoding clusters provides axle users with a high-performance option for converting media between a broad range of file formats directly from within the axle interface. Exporting media to digital masters, distribution copies, proxies, web or mobile files is as easy as a few mouse clicks.

Episode provides the highest-quality video transcoding in its class for the entire digital post-production workflow, from camera to delivery, with speed, controls, and cross-platform scalability. High-quality video processing, 10-bit encoding, and fine-tuning compression combine to maintain picture quality throughout the production process. Optimized codecs, multi-thread processing, parallel, and distributed encoding enable fast encoding speeds. Collaboration and clustering are at the core of Episode’s design, allowing users to easily join Mac and PC computers together to share encoding work among workstations.

The company has also announced new features for its Wirecast 4.2 live streaming production software. A new virtual camera output feature allows Wirecast for Windows to be used directly as a video source for Skype and Google Hangouts. Wirecast for Windows also adds support for the new Matrox VS4 multi-channel video capture card and the entire MXO2 family. Version 4.2 extends Wirecast reach to video gamers with support for custom canvas sizes and the the Avermedia Game Broadcaster HD card. Quality and performance gain a boost with updates to MainConcept and Flash libraries. In addition, support has been added for OS X Mountain Lion.

Matrox utilized the new Wirecast input source SDK which allows partners to write their own plug-ins for Wirecast. Support for the Matrox VS4 capture card provides four independent HD-SDI inputs, making it ideal for multi-camera live video production and broadcasting for sports, churches, schools, and other live events. Support for Matrox MXO2 capture devices provides an ideal portable solution for streaming live events from any location. Additional new Wirecast capture support includes Blackmagic Intensity Extreme (Thunderbolt) and Blackmagic UltraStudio 3D (Thunderbolt).

Support for custom canvas sizes extends Wirecast to gamers by allowing them to capture specific screen resolutions, beyond standard broadcast sizes. This includes support for 1920×1080 canvas size. The Avermedia Game Broadcaster HD card is designed for console and PC games, allowing users to capture games up to 1080p.

Wirecast is a cross-platform, all-in-one live streaming production software that enables capture, live production, and encoding of live streams for broadcast to multiple servers and platforms simultaneously. Wirecast is ideal for streaming or recording live internet shows, broadcasting breaking news and sports, streaming live concerts, transmitting church services, corporate meetings, lectures and more.

Lastly, Telestream has announced key partnerships with five industry leaders to expand Vantage workflow automation and control to meet a broader set of customer needs in the file-based ecosystem. New partner capabilities include inverse telecine and standards conversion with Cinnafilm, quality control with Digimetrics, audio encoding and correction with Dolby, transport stream multiplexing with Manzanita, and subtitling and captioning with Screen.
