Ten Sports Pakistan Beam uses Grass Valley solutions for World Cup coverage
Grass Valley recently supplied Ten Sports Pakistan Beam, based in Film City, Noida, with one K2 Dyno Replay System and one K2 Summit 3G Production Client for the production of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The manufacturer provided training and on-site support to ensure that Ten Sports was up and running quickly with its new solution.
“Our production team was very pleased with the performance and ease-of-use of the new Grass Valley solution,” said Hemant Buch, head of production, Ten Sports. “We made the change to the Grass Valley solution close to an important global event, which was a little unsettling, but we are so glad we did. Grass Valley was with us every step of the way, and the results met all of our expectations.”
For Ten Sports, one of the primary advantages of utilising K2 Dyno was the ability to very quickly produce highlight packages and playlists for specific players or teams. The group was able to set up replays right away and use those highlights in the studio programmes that immediately followed the games.
“K2 Dyno was easy to install and set up, involving much less infrastructure. We look forward to using K2 Dyno again for our upcoming events,” said Sanjeev Bhargav, vice president of engineering, Ten Sports.
“The live production market in India is very dynamic, with a variety of technology solutions offered by a number of vendors,” noted Steve Ronneberg, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Grass Valley. “This installation is significant, as it gives us an opportunity to show the power of our solutions in a real-world setting and create a larger group of trained professionals in the region. Ten Sports is a real leader in the market and this relationship is very beneficial for both of our companies.”
