Thomson Broadcast bringing Wavetracker to IBC 2013

One of several new developments to be shown at IBC 2013, Wavetracker is billed as a cost-efficient network monitoring system with dedicated customer support portal. The system performs all state of the art functions required for configuring and monitoring a Thomson Broadcast transmission network.

The native nomadic support of Wavetracker enables the network operator to safely, freely add or remove equipments from the  system via tablet or smartphone directly on site. Among other innovations, the graphical charting interface allows the operator to check the status of the network at a glance or to access to up to date documentation on any item of equipment in the network.

Thomson Broadcast will also show Futhura, its new complete range of fully wideband UHF digital transmitters with high operating efficiency and low energy consumption. Futhura transmitters are compact, generating up to 11.6 kW in one cabinet with up to29% efficiency, and can be installed and tuned over all the UHF band without changing or retuning any module. Futhura saves broadcasters space, energy and maintenance costs, allowing network operators to reduce operating expenses and increase profitability.

Also on display will be S7 HP, a range of radio AM transmitters designed to withstand ‘decades of intensive use’ and provide simplicity of operation, with a single button push to switch the transmitter from AM to DRM mode. Designed to minimise the cost of ownership, the S7 HP range combines a high efficiency with the ability to run a large number of the same modules in parallel.
