One of the Greg James’ Sport Relief Heroes, Davina McCall cycles 60 miles to Accrington on day three of the ‘BT sport relief challenge’ in Lake District, England

Timeline Television North in MediaCityUK has provided BBC Sport with full post production on two Sport Relief documentaries. These were the Greg James’ Sport Relief Heroes and 2020: Gareth Thomas’s Tour de Trophy programmes.

Timeline North coordinated full post production facilities at its hub in MediaCityUK with Nick Perry, Ben Coles and Greg Emmerson providing the offline, online edits and graded using Avid Symphony.

DPP file delivery was provided through Content Agent, managed by technical manager, Chris Mann. Dubbing mixer, Luke Williams, mixed the sound in Pro Tools and the series was post produced by Charlotte Bell.

Greg James’ Sport Relief Heroes is a documentary that looks at some of the most incredible challenges celebrities have completed to raise money for Sport Relief over the years. Featuring challenges undertaken by Davina McCall, Zoe Ball, David Walliams, Eddie Izzard, John Bishop and, of course, James himself, this one hour special shows how celebrities continue to push themselves to the absolute mental and physical limits to raise millions for causes they care deeply about.

The 2020: Gareth Thomas’s Tour de Trophy is a 30 minute documentary that looks back to when the rugby star cycled from Cardiff to Aberdeen, towing the 40kg Sports Personality of the Year trophy behind him, all for Sport Relief. Throughout his seven day challenge, Thomas allowed cameras to record every minute of his struggle in the hope that this film would help change our attitudes to people living isolated lives or burdened by a social stigma, issues close to Thomas’ heart.

Both documentaries are both available now on BBC iPlayer.
