TV Connect: ABOX42 to show IPTV and OTT STB

ABOX42 is showcasing its new M12 IPTV and OTT STB at TV Connect, which takes place in London this week. The M12 enables service providers to deliver new IP-based TV content and services, upgrade existing customers and create new business models. The M12 is powered by Broadcom Corporation’s BCM7231 IP STB platform and delivers a full suite of Internet-based frameworks and applications to support the delivery of OTT content and IPTV services.

The ABOX42 extensive software platform supports out of the box all major OTT/IPTV standards. The browsers support HTML 4, HTML 5 with CSS3 and CE-HTML and the compatibility to industry leading application environments like HbbTV 1.1, HbbTV 1.5, OIPF (Open IPTV Forum) and Apps from the new Smart TV Alliance.

The media player supports all leading streaming formats like HTTP Progressive Download, HLS, Smooth Streaming, Bit band Streaming, DivX Plus Streaming, IPTV multicast combined with secure DRM system like DRM 10, Play Ready, Secure Media, DivX and Verimatrix (under development).

The M12 software platform already runs over 100 OTT applications such as VoD-Services, Catch-Up TV Services, Online Video Recording, IPTV/OTT Free TV, as well as OTT Pay TV services and web-browser functionality. M12 offers short project cycles, short production lead times and includes lifecycle management, ongoing software maintenance and service updates.

ABOX42 also provides extensive developer support to help customers to quickly deploy their services or to develop completely new services on the platform.
