TV2 Norway acquires English soccer FA Cup rights

TV2, the Norwegian commercial broadcaster, has acquired the rights to show English soccer’s FA Cup, the top knockout clubs competition, together with: England home friendly international matches; the npower Championship, the country’s second-tier league; and the Capital One Cup, the country’s league cup competition.

TV2, which already holds rights to the top-tier Premier League until the end of the 2015-16 season, has secured the rights to the other English soccer properties for the 2012-13 season, but has the option to extend the agreement by a further five seasons, Bjørn Taalesen, TV2’s sports manager, said.
