Crystal Palace and Rayo Vallecano met in the UEFA Europa Conference League Final earlier this week (27 May), in a first major European final for both clubs.
The final is taking place at the Leipzig Stadium in Germany. The host broadcast will be produced by RTL Germany.
RTL Germany is working with TVN Group as the technical supplier for the Final, with TV match director Holger Merk creating the final images.
The Final will be produced in 1080p50-HDR HLG colour space. Feeds will be available in 1080p50-HDR and 1080p50-SDR, including Dolby surround sound and Dolby Atmos Immersive audio for both feeds. The delivery of the 1080p50-SDR feed will be achieved using LUT (NBCU) colour mapping from the 1080p50-HDR feed. All vision control and colour matching will be done as for a HDR delivery.
Additionally, 1080i50 feeds will also be available for onsite takers.
UEFA has allocated the following unilateral broadcast facilities for the Final:
- 70 TV, radio & social media commentary desks
- One tribune presentation platform position
- 20 pitch presentation positions
- 10 flash interview positions and three super flash positions
- 31 unilateral camera positions and 19 social media cameras
- Four unilateral broadcast partner offices
- 3950 m2 of broadcast compound space
- 36km of fibre optical pulled by UEFA to deliver services to broadcast partners
- Official film filmed on-site and to be delivered via the UEFA Hive platform
There is a 31-piece host broadcast camera plan for the Final, including:
- One drone
- Four super-slow motion cameras
- Three high-speed cameras
- Two in-goal cameras
- Two pole-cams
