UEFA Women’s Euro 2025: French rights holders TF1 and France Télévisions join forces to broadcast the tournament

French rights holder for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, TF1, is working with France Télévisions in a sub-licensing deal that is seeing France Télévisions bring both the UEFA Women’s Euros 2025 and the upcoming Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 to French fans.

TF1 group has entered into a sub-licence agreement with France Télévisions that is allowing the latter to cover 12 matches in the UEFA Women’s Euros 2025 (hosted by Switzerland from 2 to 27 July), and 12 matches in the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 (hosted by England from 22 August to 27 September).

As the official broadcaster for both of these major sporting events, TF1 group is retaining coverage of most of the games, including the stand-out fixtures.


Details of the matches being shown on TF1 group channels are as follows:

UEFA Women’s Euro 2025:

  • 11 group-phase matches including France v England at 9pm on Saturday 5 July and Netherlands v France at 9pm on Sunday 13 July, plus eight more prime time fixtures
  • 2 quarterfinals (including the match involving France, if they qualify)
  • 1 semi-final (the match involving France, if they qualify)
  • The final

Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025:

  • 15 group-phase matches including France v Italy
  • 2 quarterfinals (including the match involving France, if they qualify)
  • 1 semi-final (the match involving France, if they qualify)
  • The third and fourth place play-off
  • The final

Julien Millereux, head of sport at TF1 Group, said: “We are delighted to team up with France Télévisions in broadcasting these two tournaments. This sub-licence agreement means that these two events will enjoy even more promotion and exposure within France. TF1 group will broadcast most of the games, including the stand-out fixtures, from these two landmark events for women’s sport in 2025.”

At the last Women’s Euro in 2022, the French team’s semi-final defeat captivated more than six million viewers on TF1, the best-ever audience for a UEFA Women’s Euro match on any channel it France, according to TF1.

France Télévisions will offer the public 12 matches including one match of the French team during the Women’s Euro football championship.

“This summer, the Euro football championship and the Rugby World Cup join the other unmissable competitions offered by France Télévisions, notably the Women’s Tour de France, to highlight the performances of the greatest sportswomen and support our national teams, which we accompany throughout the year. We are thus strengthening our ability to bring the French people together around a range of sporting events of unparalleled diversity and accessible to all.”
