Verizon Media ramps up European presence with another year of Gold Sponsorship with SVG Europe

Verizon Media has renewed its Gold Sponsorship of SVG Europe for the second year, and has stated that over the next 12 months it intends to increase its presence in Europe further.

The company will use SVG Europe as a platform to establish that increased base in the region, said Mary Kay Evans, chief marketing officer at Verizon Media.

Evans said: “Last year Verizon Media expanded its Sports Video Group (SVG) membership and joined the European sister organisation to support the company’s continued business growth within EMEA. Thanks to its programmes, publications and invaluable networking opportunities, it was a no-brainer for Verizon Media to renew its membership with Sports Video Group Europe for 2020.

“Over the coming year, Verizon Media will be placing an even greater emphasis on the European market, looking to replicate the success that the Verizon Media Platform has had in the US market, helping broadcasters deliver TV-like experiences to millions of viewers. To achieve this, it’s important to continue working closely with Sports Video Group Europe,” Evans continued.

She concluded: “I am excited about the opportunity to build relationships with fellow SVG members, further leveraging the organisation’s influence to position Verizon Media as the go-to company for a fully integrated, end-to-end platform, addressing the constantly evolving needs of sports content providers and broadcasters.”

Verizon Media offers an integrated digital media platform to prepare, deliver, display and monetise online content. The company’s platform is built on a global network that has over 130 points of presence on six continents, ensuring high-quality viewing of digital content on any device, anytime, anywhere. The platform powers websites, apps and over the top (OTT) video services for many of the world’s largest publishers, media companies and enterprises.
