Viasat’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games online platform delivered by deltatre

Scandinavian broadcaster Viasat recently appointed global sport media services company deltatre to step up its Olympic digital coverage with the build and support of its Olympic Games’ desktop website. Looking to make the experience more immersive, Viasat’s sophisticated, event-based Olympic touch-point is built on deltatre’s sport-specific website solution, Forge – supplying live results and editorial content around all 42 different sport disciplines.

“We want to present and promote our Olympic coverage in ways that give the best possible experience for our audiences. It was important for us to collaborate with deltatre to tap from their innovativeness as well as a passion for always pushing the boundaries of digital sports further,” said Bartek Gudowski, CTO at Viasat.

The site aggregates all of Viasat’s Olympic content with a focus on official results and calendar, data and live timing, in-depth event and discipline schedules to bring audiences additional real-time, live sporting coverage from Rio.

“Fans need a compelling digital coverage to fully experience the excitement of the Olympic Games more than for any other sport event. We are glad to support Viasat in this, thanks to our sport-specific CMS and our long lasting experience. We aim to deliver fans all the complexity of such a rich event through engaging and cutting edge digital solutions,” said Bastien Lacheny, commercial director (France, Benelux, Spain) at deltatre.
