VIDI transmits live TV signals at IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha

VIDI was one of the first event service providers to be present at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. During the IAAF World Athletics Championship VIDI is transmitting TV signals live for the Qatari telecommunications provider Ooredoo.

While the athletes started competing against each other on 28 September, VIDI’s work started earlier. The company officially launched its service on 15 September and continues for a month. During this time, VIDI is providing media contribution services between the Khalifa Stadium Doha and the National Theatre Doha.

To be precise, VIDI is offering one UHD and nine HD transmissions, as well as data services during this time. The UHD service is compressed in HEVC, the HD services in J2K. The 10G networks required for both locations are provided by the Qatari telecommunications provider Ooredoo. VIDI is using its VIDI NMS tool for network management as well as providing on-site engineering support to ensure smooth operations during the World Athletics Championships in Doha.
