West Bromwich Albion goes for StreamAMG to power OTT TV channel

StreamAMG to provide coverage as West Bromich Albion returns to the Premier League

West Bromwich Albion has partnered with StreamAMG ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

From the start of the 2020/21 season, the club will use StreamAMG’s technology to power WBA TV,  its new over the top (OTT) offering for on demand content and audio commentary for supporters.

Having secured promotion to the Premier League in July, the club chose the company to run the technology behind its online video offering ahead of the club’s return to the top.

West Brom will use: MediaPlatform, StreamAMG’s core online video platform, to orchestrate live streams and manage on demand content; the CloudMatrix content distribution system to automate on demand video population; and the CloudPay platform to offer future ability to handle payments via Stripe and PayPal, and manage users and subscribers.

Simon King, chief commercial officer at West Bromwich Albion, reacted: “Streaming and online video have never been more important to us as a way to connect with our supporters, and we’re always looking to improve. StreamAMG were the natural choice to help us make WBA TV better than ever before.”

Matt McKiernan, chief operations officer at StreamAMG added: “It’s exciting to be part of West Brom’s return to the Premier League. We are pleased to have agreed this long-term partnership and we’re looking forward to working together for years to come.”
