World Curling Federation selects Imagen to provide video archive
Enterprise video platform specialist Imagen are working with the World Curling Federation to help build the profile and global reach of the sport via their own video archive.
With a video tape library dating back approximately 50 years, comprised of a wide variety of formats, Imagen is set to revitalise this content for a new generation of fans and participants, providing an online platform for enthusiasts to engage with this intriguing sport. Imagen will preserve the legacy of the federation’s entire video collection and provide a new life for content which would otherwise be unsearchable and hard to access.
Following on from the successful fan engagement at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, World Curling plans to present fans worldwide with access to the entire library through a branded, secure web platform.
Imagen’s system also provides a seamless distribution channel for B2B customers wishing to license this unique content. The platform ensures a premium experience for broadcast clients ensuring footage is easily accessible through dynamic searches and can be packaged and delivered at high speed.
Joanna Kelly, broadcast manager at the World Curling Federation, observed: “By developing our own video archive using Imagen’s platform, we anticipate that it will encourage fans to engage with curling and in them doing so, futureproof the sport globally providing a more sustainable future for the sport.”
Tom Wild, senior account manager at Imagen, commented: “I think it is important for World Curling’s profile to have their brand visible to fans. With that in mind, the Imagen system has been customised to make a smooth transition between their existing website and their video archive.”
From small clubs and federations to global super-leagues, Imagen delivers a proven content archiving solution that protects World Curling’s media for the long term and scales as their library grows.
