World Lacrosse and Sportall partner to deliver new streaming platform WL TV
World Lacrosse (WL) has announced a partnership with multisport streaming platform and services provider Sportall to deliver WL TV, a custom digital video platform that will offer live and on-demand content to lacrosse fans around the world.
WL TV will be available via web platform at TV.WorldLacrosse.sport, as well as through dedicated iOS and Android mobile apps.
The web platform will launch next month ahead of the 2024 World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship. All 64 games of the championship in Hong Kong will be broadcast live on WL TV across every global territory.
WL’s initial three-year partnership with Sportall includes the critical period leading up to lacrosse’s highly anticipated return to the Olympic stage at the Los Angeles 2028 Games. During that time, all events managed by WL will appear on the platform both live and on-demand, along with additional feature content and select other sanctioned events and qualifiers.
WL CEO, Jim Scherr, said: “The delivery of WL TV via Sportall will be game-changing for our sport, greatly increasing our global visibility and accessibility as lacrosse continues on its path of exponential growth. Not only will this benefit and expand our international fanbase, but it will provide a platform for our members to distribute their valuable content as well. We look forward to offering more lacrosse to more people around the world than ever before, starting next month with our women’s U20 championship.”
Sportall CEO, Thierry Boudard, added: “Like other big international organisations, World Lacrosse has decided to operate their own streaming platform with Sportall. With this direct-to-consumer strategy, World Lacrosse will dramatically expand their coverage, being directly connected to their fanbase with the end-to-end support of Sportall. We are proud to partner with one more ‘road to LA’ federation.”
