Wowza Media Systems, Encoding.com, ease transcoding
Wowza Media Systems will be at IBC on the heels of a partnership that provides Wowza customers with custom Encoding.com presets to simplify the preparation and transcoding of videos into the optimal formats for adaptive bitrate delivery by Wowza Media Server.
Jeff Malkin, president of Encoding.com, says, “This partnership expands that notion by leveraging Encoding.com’s custom Woza transcoding presets, so Wowza customers can remove yet another complicated component in their video workflow.”
The Wowza Media Server supports both live and VOD adaptive bitrate streaming. However, encoding file content for adaptive bitrate delivery to popular playback clients, such as Flash, Silverlight, and Apple iPhone/iPad, can be challenging for many enterprises. Utilising Encoding.com’s cloud-based encoding solution and proprietary Encoding Intelligence, Wowza customers can take advantage of a new set of Wowza encoding presets to easily produce common adaptive bitrate files from the plethora of source file formats for any-screen delivery by Wowza Media Server.
“Wowza is committed to offering its customers unified solutions for managing live and on-demand video delivery,” says Dave Stubenvoll, CEO and co-founder of Wowza Media Systems. “By partnering with Encoding.com, a trusted brand in the video ecosystem, our customers no longer need to struggle with the complex encoding process. Encoding.com simply takes care of it.”
