WTS Group renames its C2S systems arm and reveals major premises expansion

WTS Group is to rename its C2S systems operation to bring it under the group name – and is expanding the department’s premises to more than double the current size. “The change in name reinforces WTS’ reputation in the marketplace by bringing to the fore the group’s wide range of expertise in equipment supply and systems integration,” said Ben Murphy, sales director for WTS Group.

“Since WTS established its systems arm, C2S Systems, in 2009, our customers have benefitted from the close working relationship between our integration and equipment supply teams,” he explained. “By unifying the name, we want to make all our clients fully aware of the broad range of expertise and services we can offer – from providing them with a camera battery to building a state-of-the-art OB truck, and everything in between.

“Our experience in engineering the most complex of integration solutions means that we can help our equipment customers to choose the perfect combination of kit to make their workflow seamless.  And our position as one of the world’s largest suppliers of broadcast equipment means we can source the hardware our systems customers require at the best possible price.”

The premises move, meanwhile, has seen WTS invest over £250k on fit-out and infrastructure at its new systems integration factory. Located around a quarter of a mile from the existing site on the outskirts of Leeds, the custom-fitted facility offers more than 26,000 sq. ft. of workshop and office space.

It will house separate workshops both for WTS’ systems integration services and its OB vehicle coachwork, mechanical engineering, and technical furniture and bespoke rack building services, as well as affording superior office space for planning and operational teams.

Murphy said the move – scheduled for completion in late September – comes as the company’s integrations operation strengthens. “As our systems business continues to expand rapidly year on year, we had outgrown our current facility some time ago – and have since secured numerous large OB vehicle contracts,” he said. “Moving premises will allow us to continue to grow our systems operations and meet increasing demand for our services, from both existing customers and new clients,” he explained.

The expansion brings WTS’ combined UK operational floor space to 50,000 sq. ft., making it one of the largest broadcast specialists in Europe. The group is also developing its UK team, with six new personnel added to its London offices and further roles to be created in its Leeds facility.
