XD Motion goes to NAB with X Fly 1D Mini and tethered 4K drone
XD Motion will use NAB 2019 to showcase its X Fly 1D Mini, a new XD camera head with three axes gyro stabilised in one package. The Mini X Fly 1D keeps crews fast and small and only requires a single operator to control all functions of the cablecam, gimbal and lens, with an RF control system.
Also at NAB, the company will also present its new captive drone, designed for aerial shooting over a long period. This tethered 4K drone is equipped with a full broadcast HD camera and zoom lens and can be used for beauty and live shots in safety conditions.
Demonstrated on its stand at NAB with partner Gyro Stabilized Systems, the drone can also be used for light, either with a dynamic light/shadow motion 10 LED panel, a four LED panel or a spotlight.
Meanwhile, XD Motion’s Cablecam X Fly 3D has been adapted so that it is augmented reality (AR) capable. The AR system will first be used commercially at a European eSport competition this coming April. With no need for an extra tracking system, XD Motion provides the metadata for AR directly from its system. Because of the stability and the quality of its metadata, the company has a good quality of stabilisation even when on full zoom.
For the needs of customers at upcoming major international events, the X Fly 3D also integrates the an efficient 8K camera from a Japanese manufacturer and has adapted fibre optics to transmit all live signals and camera controls.
