Zixi and Blackbird team-up to quicken cloud-based publishing workflows

Zixi and Blackbird have embarked on a new partnership designed to speed-up cloud-based video editing and publishing workflows for producers, broadcasters and federations.

Zixi technology is used to distribute live broadcast-quality video over IP using its Software-Defined Video Platform (SDVP).

Blackbird develops a professional cloud video editing and publishing platform that provides speedy access to video content for the creation of clips and highlights that can then be made available on multiple devices and channels.

Following the tie-up and integration, Blackbird can be deployed in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud instances with live Zixi workflows, enabling the ability to insert branding, advertising and sponsored content for delivery to subscriber platforms.

The integrated SDVP is said to provide “ultra-low latency video delivery with the Zixi protocol, proven reliability and extensive transport, network and content quality analytics through Zixi Video Solutions stack.”

Using ZEN Master, remote users can maintain business continuity by securely orchestrating, managing and monitoring broadcast quality, low latency live video workflows from anywhere in the world.

Zixi and Blackbird will demonstrate their joint offering on Wednesday 29 April (4pm UK time) as part of Zixi’s two-week Zixi Powered! virtual showcase being run in lieu of NAB 2020.
