ATEME highlights HEVC insight and developments

ATEME, a global leader in advanced video compression solutions, will
be showcasing the latest in video broadcasting compression technology at the
International Broadcasters Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam on September 13-17,
2013, Hall One Stand 1.D71.

As a leading R&D company, and in conjunction with its work on the 4EVER
Project, ATEME executives will be available to provide unique insights into
the development and status of High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), the new
codec that will enable 50 percent bandwidth savings in digital television
delivery.

Below is a preview of some of the news ATEME is planning for this event;
however much more will be announced during the show.

Kyrion CM5000
A high performance encoder for contribution and distribution links based on ATEME’s unique FPGA design, permitting complete software upgradeability from SD to HD or 4:2:0 to 4:2:2. Feature upgrades include a solution for video multiplex operators called the Seamless Channel Insertion (SCI). Based on open standard/non-proprietary “Piecewise CBR” control rate mode, this feature allows broadcast contribution network operators to smoothly insert or remove
channels in a Multi Programs Transport System.

Kyrion DR8400
This IRD supporting HEVC is a versatile and universal decoder featuring an ultra-powerful processing engine for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video. Tolerant of all formats and brands of encoders. Feature upgrades include full support for HEVC decoding.

TITAN File Transcoder
A carrier-grade software video transcoding solution dedicated to multi-screen delivery of Video On Demand. Feature upgrades include support of HEVC output for any type of file transcoding, from mobile resolution to Ultra High Definition (UHDTV) 4K high frame rate video.

TITAN Live Transcoder
A real-time multi-channel/format IP-based transcoder for multi-screen delivery of linear channels (TV, mobile, and web). Feature upgrades include support of HEVC output for real-time transcoding up to HD resolution.

ATEME will be demonstrating UHDTV 4K, including stunning pictures of the
new format, and HEVC compression for a variety of screens.
