Evertz EQX10 router to debut at IBC

Evertz’s newest addition to its award winning EQX routing family, the EQX10, will debut at IBC 2015.  The company says the EQX10 delivers the same high standards, robustness and redundancy as its predecessors but comes in a powerful, compact 10RU frame. With support for audio embed / de-embed and up to 180 x 180 IO plus X-LINK in a single frame, the EQX10 is the ideal routing and distribution solution for stadium broadcasts, mobile facilities or any mid-sized production.Designed for performance, the EQX10 features a new compact vertically seated crosspoint architecture that still takes advantage of the flexible Green technology and robust EQX frame controller found in legacy EQX crosspoints. The router’s highly accessible and flexible frame design allows for reduced power consumption and heat dissipation in the input, output and crosspoint module resulting in a more efficient router with quieter fans.

To meet the growing demand for IP infrastructures, the EQX10 was designed to easily integrate with Evertz SDVN solution in order to facilitate a fully hybrid architecture using Evertz EQX-IPG Video Gateway modules. The EQX-IPG cards will fit into any EQX frame, allowing for the union of traditional baseband with format agnostic IP switch fabrics. For familiar control and orchestration, the EQX10 interfaces with Evertz award winning MAGNUM control system to bridge legacy SDI based facilities and IP-based facilities.
