ToolsOnAir Broadcast Engineering, VISTA Worldlink Announce Global Partnership Agreement
ToolsOnAir and VISTA Worldlink have announced a partnership agreement to integrate VISTA’s proprietary VTA technology with ToolsOnAir’s just: play, providing global network origination, scheduling and playout services.
When VISTA Worldlink selected ToolsOnAir as the playout automation system for their client Motors TV in late 2014, it was the serendipitous genesis of an idea to jointly provide content origination, scheduling and playout automation as a service model for potential broadcast clients worldwide. That idea has now become reality with the announcement of a formal agreement and a live demonstration of the technology at the ToolsOnAir booth 7.G45.
Using actual data and media from Motors TV, VISTA and ToolsOnAir will demonstrate IP transport technology from the booth back to VISTA’s facilities in South Florida via the VISTA Transport Appliance (VTA). The proprietary, cost effective, VTA device creates an encrypted VPN tunnel allowing broadcast quality content to travel across business class Internet circuits. This technology enables VISTA’s state of the art broadcast facility to be a central hub for international broadcasters around the world requiring network origination services.
Back in Florida multiple instances of ToolsOnAir’s just: play and a flow: rage workflow appliance provide VISTA employees the perfect tools to simultaneously organize, manage and coordinate master control, 24 x 7 playout services, media integration, real-time graphic generation and network origination requirements for multiple broadcast clients.
In discussing the cooperation, Josh Liemer, VISTA’s Vice President Sales and Marketing, had this to say: “VISTA Worldlink is proud to be working with ToolsOnAir to demonstrate how our IP Transport Technology, VTA, is the perfect transmission complement to the TOA just: play 24/7 automated playout system. We will be demonstrating together with TOA at IBC and are actively looking for clients who want to benefit from this unique service offering.”
Bruce Straight, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ToolsOnAir concurred: “The cost effective VISTA Transport Appliance (VTA) makes VISTA’s broadcast facility in South Florida a global integration center for any ToolsOnAir playout customer that does not want to invest in the hardware infrastructure needed to handle the actual broadcast transmission part of the picture but still wants to benefit from the ease-of-use of our intuitive just: play software.”
