Grass Valley offering incentives for Kayak to K-Frame upgrades
Current owners of Kayak SD or HD switchers from Grass Valley have a limited-time opportunity to save tens of thousands on the system price — and a lot more with license matching — of any new Karrera K-Frame S-series or GV Korona K-Frame S-series switcher. Introduced at NAB 2016 in April, the GV Korona K-Frame S-series is now shipping. The upgrade offer is available through the end of this year.
“This is a great opportunity for our Kayak customers to move up to a switcher they’ll love even more,” said Greg Huttie, VP, switcher product line, Grass Valley. “With this incentive program and the fact that all of our switchers share a familiar and intuitive interface, there’s never been a better time to make the change. Our solutions are designed with input from TDs and engineers who know what’s important in the field.”
As part of this programme, all Kayak software features requiring a K-Frame license will be matched at no additional charge, so customers can still protect the Kayak investment made years ago. In addition, any hardware for additional I/Os or M/Es can be ordered as options on the new devices.
Karrera K-Frame S-series switchers combine ultimate mid-range performance, along with proven workflows and simplified control of complex productions, with multiformat support, including 1080p and 4K/UHD. Offered as two system packages, with 3M/E or 2M/E, Karrera switchers deliver unmatched creative freedom for highly produced content and are now available with IP I/O for SMPTE 2022-6 connectivity.
GV Korona K-Frame S-series switchers also combine ultimate mid-range–switcher performance, along with proven workflows and simplified control of complex productions in two system packages, with 2M/E or 1M/E. GV Korona has a smaller footprint, suiting it for studio, mobile, and venue environments, and offers a choice between two new control surfaces with a built-in touchscreen menu system, innovative touchscreens in transition areas, and a K-Frame S-series video-processing engine.
