True serverless asset management company Mimir has announced a suite of features and tools in its cloud-native media production and collaboration platform focused around efficient and stable content creation at high speed – from anywhere.
A brand-new mobile ingest app for Mimir is coming to the Android and iOS app stores. The Mimir app gives users stable, fast upload of any file as well as live streaming capabilities from a mobile device. Gone are the days of wonky uploads through mobile OS browsers and the hassle of moving files to a laptop before re-tethering to a phone to upload. With the Mimir app, users are a click away from putting files directly into a MAM for anyone, anywhere to access. It’s also possible to start a live stream from the app that goes straight into Mimir, where it becomes available as a growing file and is available for transcription and editing immediately.
Mimir has also enhanced its in-MAM editing tool Cutter with J-cut and L-cut, audio control and keyframes, dissolve, blurring and dvanced autoframing to match desired output formats.
“The industry is no longer willing to spend extra clicks, time, and money on the most frequent, straightforward editing jobs – it has become clear that this task should be handled inside the asset management system to save precious time and drive up productivity. We think this way of working will take over simple editing while advanced edits, long-form content, and more will stay with NLEs – which is why we will not compromise on our integration with these tools,” said Fonn Group CEO Haavard Myklebust.
