FOR-A Receives Numerous Awards for Signal Processor

At the NAB convention earlier this month, FOR-A Corporation of America was honored with multiple accolades for its FA-1010 signal processor. Introduced at the show, the new FA-1010 is a recipient of both the TV Technology STAR Award and Broadcast Engineering’s Pick Hit Award.

With 10 video inputs and outputs, the new FA-1010 offers multi-channel routing between sources as well as effective video and audio signal processing for line, relay, reporting, production, editing, and delivery applications. The FA-1010 supports 1080p, 1080i, 720p, NTSC, and PAL video formats. 10 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs and outputs come standard, each synchronized independently for a clean switch. The FA-1010 provides extensive audio support, with 16 channels of embedded audio for 3G/HD-SDI synchronous/asynchronous input and 12 channels for each synchronous SD-SDI input. The solution’s signal processing ensures ancillary data remains intact while performing delay or level adjustment, down-mixing, remapping, and other functions. The FA-1010 will be available this summer.

The STAR Awards (short for Superior Technology Award Recipient) have recognized the preeminent technological innovations available to the media industry for the past 13 years. To choose award nominees, a judging panel of TV Technology editors, columnists, and broadcast industry experts reviewed a variety of products and services, examined the technical applications and their overall contribution to the industry, and then submitted their award nominees.

The Broadcast Engineering NAB Show Pick Hits winners are chosen after a panel of independent judges tour the show floor for three days looking for innovative products and technology that meet their criteria. Factors taken into consideration include the technical and financial improvements the product can bring to a facility’s operation.

“TV Technology and Broadcast Engineering are two of the most prestigious publications in the industry, and we’re honored to have been recognized by both of them at this year’s NAB Show,” said Hiro Tanoue, FOR-A Corporation of America’s President. “FOR-A’s focus is on staying ahead of the curve by creating reliable, innovative solutions. The new FA-1010 multichannel processor offers a wealth of functionality and connectivity, and we’re happy that it was so well received during its introduction at NAB.”
