Haivision Is Set With Two Products for Video Management, Media Capture

Haivision (SL6605) is exhibiting Video Cloud, an online video-management platform that simplifies live and on-demand content-publishing workflows, and Calypso, a media-capture and -management platform for viewing, recording, and sharing live video content.

Haivision Video Cloud provides an end-to-end solution from live encoding of events; through cloud transcoding, automated video-content management and publishing; across the CDN; and ultimately to any connected device. With enterprise-class performance and automated media publishing, the Haivision Video Cloud allows content producers to deliver exceptional video experiences to Internet audiences globally.

Calypso is intended to empower mission-critical decision making, collaboration and assessment. Suited to simulation, skills assessment and training applications, it enables users to quickly turn live activities and events into media assets by capturing and sharing live and on-demand content in real time. Subject matter experts can monitor multiple sessions, choose to record any or all of the contributing streams, assign metadata to sessions or events in real time, and elect to share or remove viewing privileges at any time. Calypso’s scalable platform provides high-performance H.264 recording performance, with up to 50 HD streams simultaneously recorded on a single server appliance.

Haivision is also demonstrating Makito X2, it’s next-generation, dual-channel, low-latency HD H.264 encoder. The company’s first product to incorporate its Makito X Series technology, it delivers higher-quality video to meet HD-streaming challenges at a significantly reduced bitrate. The Makito X2 also achieves high 1080p60 H.264 encoding density, supporting up to 12 sources in a 1RU chassis. It carries forward the extreme performance of the original Makito with 55-millisecond encoding latency. Tailored for demanding enterprise, medical, and military applications, the Makito X2 also supports multi-bitrate (MBR) streaming and can output four stream-bitrate profiles per source (from 32 kbps to 25 Mbps) over MPEG transport stream or RTMP. Other advanced and mature features, many inherited from the Makito, include downscaling, de-interlacing, deblocking, forward error correction, encryption, closed-captioning, and key-length-value metadata for full-motion–video applications.
