Ross Video, Semtech Demonstrate 6G UHD-SDI Solutions

Ross Video (Booth N3808) is showcasing development of products using Semtech’s new 6G UHD-SDI technology. A technology demo displays distribution of a 6-Gbps signal with impressive performance specifications.

The new 6G technology extends standard copper coax cabling with longer distances for 3-Gbps and 1.5-Gbps transmissions and opens the opportunity to multiplex up to four 1.5-Gbps or two 3-Gbps signals onto a single link. Other potential 6 Gbps solutions are the transport and distribution of 1080p 3D and dual-link 6-Gbps + 6-Gbps, UHDTV, and 4K digital cinema transmission.
