Vizrt Shows Off Viz Engine’s New 4K-Rendering Capability, IP Streaming

Vizrt (Booth SL3305) is showcasing how its Viz Engine real-time compositor of graphics and video effectively handles 4K-resolution rendering and IP media streaming to meet the dual challenge of producing 4K content and distributing it to on-air, Web, mobile, and social-media outlets as the media landscape expands.

Live, interactive demonstrations of Viz Engine’s new capabilities are part of the company’s overall mission at the show: highlighting an integrated workflow for video and graphics production and distribution.

Viz Engine can accept IP streams, process them, and output them in real time so that the video is easy to distribute to the Web or mobile devices or convert to a video signal to broadcast on-air. Although Viz Engine is designed for SDI-based broadcasting, a version introduced at IBC2012 provides real-time IP-based 3D graphics and video compositing and rendering in a low-cost solution. With no need for an expensive video card, the system takes up less rack space. The IT infrastructure makes it portable for OB vans and affordable for broadcasters.

Multiple Viz Engines can render the same content and output different formats for multiple platforms in real time, eliminating the need for transcoding to each platform.
