Anevia confirms acquisition of BackstreamTV

Video streaming specialist Anevia has announced a major reinforcement of its hospitality business with the acquisition of BackstreamTV.

Currently based in southwest France, BackstreamTV provides a cloud TV solution for use in managing the thousands of television and radio programmes broadcast by satellite on corporate IPTV headends for hospitality market applications.

“The technology developed by BackstreamTV forms an ideal platform for our development of cloud TV services for applications such as hotel headends,” comments Anevia EVP and co-founder Damien Lucas. “It is a logical continuation of the cloud television channel service we recently established. Our combined technology will give our respective customers outstanding cloud services to manage the television and radio content of their IPTV headend systems and delivery of cloud TV content.”

BackstreamTV’s technology incorporates a database of 10,000 digital television and radio programmes broadcast on 1,000 frequencies from 40 satellites. Using exclusive predictive mechanisms, it enables realtime monitoring of corporate IPTV headend content.

“I am proud that Anevia has selected the BackstreamTV technology as a foundation on which to build its cloud TV and monitoring services strategy,” adds BackstreamTV founder Philippe Bayard. “I am also very pleased to be joining this talented team to provide the hospitality market with an ongoing range of innovative cloud services for TV delivery.”
