Apantac showcases 4K converters at IBC 2014

Apantac is launching its new family of 4K converters to the European marketplace at IBC 2014, booth 8.E37.

These low-cost 4K conversion solutions are ideal for a vast variety of broadcast and professional audio visual applications, including; mobile outside broadcast, events, rental & staging, video wall applications, multiviewer applications, 4K production, as well as many other on and off-set monitoring and conversion applications. They are part of Apantac’s Crescent line of signal processing solutions.

Micro-4K: 4K to HD Down-Converter
This affordable mini converter down-converts four 3G-SDI signals from professional 4K/QFHD @ 50/59.94/60 Hz equipment. The Micro-4K four 3G-SDI inputs are down-converted to both HDMI and SDI simultaneously, with outputs up to 1080P. UHD sources can now affordably be viewed on inexpensive LCD monitors or routed in the existing 3G infrastructure, making this an ideal solution for 4K broadcast and mobile production.

The Micro-4K allows users to select one SDI embedded stereo audio pair and embed it on the SDI and HDMI outputs. It is also available as a stereo analog audio output.

Micro-4K-DP: 4K to Display Port 1.2 Converter
The Micro-4K-DP provides an affordable solution for viewing 4K/UHD content at 4K/UHD resolution on monitors that use Display Port 1.2 (DP 1.2). Display Port is a display interface that is an alternative to HDMI. The Micro-4K-DP accepts four 3G-SDI signals from professional 4K/QFHD @ 50/59.94/60 Hz equipment and is an ideal solution for 4K /UHD production applications.

As of today, Display Port 1.2 is the only monitor interface supporting 4096/3840 x 2160
resolution at 50/59.94/60 Hz frame rates and 4:4:4/4:2:2, 10 bits sampling until “real” HDMI 2.0 interface components will become available. Several cost effective UHD monitors with DP 1.2 interface are now available on the market
