Barnfind chosen by Discovery/Eurosport Norway

Norwegian manufacturer Barnfind Technologies was selected by Discovery/Eurosport Norway for mission critical contribution solutions during the largest and most complex broadcast event ever in the company’s history.

”Winter sports has an almost religious standing in Norway, and the task to cover the largest winter sport event in the world really put the engineering team and equipment to the ultimate test. Failure was simply not an option”, says CEO Wiggo Evensen of Barnfind.

The overall coverage of the two-week long event was built around several production hubs, both on-site and globally. In addition to these there were three different locations for the event, in addition to studios and production in Norway. The task of joining a number of these hubs together, primarily used as main program feed contribution and commentating feeds saw several BarnOne routers deployed.

Because there were several hops between the sites, it was key to use a non-compressed solution to eliminate any generation degradation as well as keeping the latency down to zero.
