beIN Media Group selects Quortex and Cognacq-Jay Image to stream sports content in MENA

BeIN Media Group has chosen Cognacq-Jay Image and Quortex technology to provide streaming services for its sports content in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

BeIN will use Quortex’s Just-In-Time solution to stream high-quality sports content to its subscriber base in 24 countries across the region. Through beIN’s OTT platform, provided by Cognacq-Jay Image, the solution will run on Microsoft Azure.

Faisal Al Raisi, manager of digital projects at beIN Media Group, MENA, stated: “Our partnership with Quortex and Cognacq-Jay Image contributes to beIN’s long-term objective of ensuring our offering stands the test of time by evolving our head-end. This collaboration is also instrumental in delivering the best streaming quality to our subscribers across MENA, especially ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. We are confident that Quortex will deliver this by combining technology and sustainability through its network and bandwidth optimisation.”

“We are thrilled to start such an exciting project with beIN”, said Marc Baillavoine, Quortex CEO. “Quortex I/O is the platform of choice for such services. We can demonstrate our solution in less than an hour and are able to stream live in ultra-premium quality to the MENA region in just a few minutes. Being both cloud-native and agnostic, Quortex is able to deliver the solution via beIN’s preferred cloud provider.”

Based on the company’s ‘Just-In-Time-Everything’ technology, the Quortex I/O platform builds the workflow based on user demand, not from the content origination. In this way, it maximises the benefits of live streaming while minimising the risks associated with online event launches.

“As a global integrator, we provide our customers with best-in-class technologies,” said François Nguyen, Cognacq-Jay Image project director for beIN MENA’s OTT platform. “We pay attention to the customer requirement in terms of both quality and integration compatibility.  In a project like this, adding Quortex to the existing ecosystem is a natural fit for us.”
