Bundesliga International adds Robert Klein as COO

Even before its planned establishment on July 1, 2017, Bundesliga International GmbH is adding a new member to its top management echelon. As of May 1, 2017, Robert Klein will take on responsibility for sales and marketing in the capacity of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

Jörg Daubitzer will continue to hold the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bundesliga International GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fussball Liga GmbH (DFL) into which DFL Sports Enterprises GmbH will be merged.

Bundesliga International GmbH will combine DFL’s international sales and marketing activities, the goal being to further enhance the successful internationalization of the Bundesliga. That includes establishing further branch offices in other countries and ramping up global marketing activities.

Most recently, Robert Klein was Head of Global Rights for Red Bull Media House GmbH in Salzburg, where he was responsible for the acquisition and sales of global sports and cultural properties as well as for the global commercial distribution of Red Bull-owned sports properties.

Robert Klein’s career has been an international one: he previously served as Executive Director at International Sports Multimedia (ISM), which is based in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), and also spent six years at UEFA as part of the incumbent team that built up UEFA New Media in Nyon (Switzerland). He holds a master’s degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, and speaks French and German in addition to English, his mother tongue.
