BVE 2016: TriCaster Advanced Edition opens NDI gateway

At BVE 2016, NewTek will continue to spread the word about Advanced IP Workflows and its soon-to-be-released NDI (Network Device Interface), a new open standard for live production IP workflows. NewTek is showcasing two TriCaster products, the TriCaster 8000 and TriCaster Mini, that are ideal for the new Advanced Edition upgrade and thereby incorporation of NDI.

NewTek is truly opening up new frontiers with TriCaster Advanced Edition and NewTek NDI powering video production—over IP. With NDI, users can send and receive real-time, frame-accurate video from cameras and devices in different locations, all on a standard network infrastructure. It provides the ability to access the inputs and outputs of any compatible device on a network, tapping into exponentially more media sources for any production. Users can grow their channel count with four additional inputs, mixing any video from both hardware connections and IP video sources. Users can also seamlessly integrate audio over IP, connecting to Dante-enabled audio devices anywhere in a facility.

Visitors to Stand P29 will see the TriCaster 8000, a live video system equipped to handle anything from big live shows to incredibly sophisticated Web programmes, and even branded content for cross-channel delivery and multi-screen experiences. The 8000 replaces gear for recording, encoding, switching, submixing, playback, audio mixing, DVE, advanced graphics and titling, animation store, scan conversion, multiple channels of virtual sets, live streaming, camera automation, scopes and monitors, and social media publishing – it is the ultimate turnkey solution.

Also on the stand is the latest TriCaster addition, TriCaster Mini, a compact multimedia studio that enables anyone using everyday cameras to create and publish quality video content in minutes, stream it live, push to social media platforms, and capture audiences just like network-style TV. The TriCaster Mini’s small size, ease of use, and feature set are designed to make it easy to carry in one hand, set up, create, and share a complete programme in minutes. Plus with Advanced Edition, users can continue to grow with the Mini, utilising the expanded range of new feature sets at any time.

Both of these TriCaster products are able to incorporate NewTek’s NDI technology, which will make its initial debut in a new version of TriCaster Advanced Edition early in 2016. The upgrade will give TriCaster 8000, TriCaster Mini, and other TriCaster Pro Line products Advanced IP Workflow capabilities allowing for an additional four inputs – which can be cameras or any supported video source on a LAN. Users can have all source inputs be IP-based if they choose or mix IP sources with local SDI sources. The updated version of TriCaster Advanced Edition software will be offered as a free upgrade to any current TriCaster Advanced Edition customer.
