Canal+ & Kudelski form Swiss partnership
Switzerland: Canal+/CanalSat Switzerland and Nagravision have announced a new partnership covering content and revenue security for the upcoming April launch of the the broadcaster’s new high definition package.
The new HD bouquet comprises 11 HD channels and also includes five Canal+ channels in HD. Nagravision’s system allows Canal+/CanalSat Switzerland to not only secure its new high definition service for live broadcasts, but also to offer features over time such as time-shifted and start-over television.
In order to ensure that only authorised subscribers have access to the new service, the new Canal+/CanalSat smartcards provided by Nagravision will not be compatible with those already securing the Canal+/CanalSat service in France and in territories serviced by Canal Overseas.
