Cerberus and Sematron launch Global Distribution Network

A new partnership between Cerberus and Sematron offers a fully managed service for the delivery of video content over the internet. This service is designed to the benefit of customers who contribute and distribute video content for ad hoc occasional use, and planned event and permanent services. The GDN is a cloud-based network that utilises the global reach of the internet whilst employing network management processes, video specific protocols and edge devices to provide a controlled end to end service.

Anthony Kincade, Engineering Manager, Sematron commented: “Our Global Distribution Network, powered by Zixi, delivers broadcast quality video from your facility over the Internet and/or private networks to any destination including multiple global satellite and cable head ends. This breakthrough technology allows content providers to deliver their media over unmanaged IP networks to multiple destinations without any loss in quality, saving on expensive satellite bandwidth or leased lines”

John Gledson Managing Director, Cerberus Tech commented: “Zixi is a proven network and video aware software platform that enables the simple, economical, and secure delivery of broadcast quality video over the internet to any device over any distance. The world’s top broadcast, digital content and video processing companies rely on the Zixi platform in a wide variety of use cases including live event production, primary contribution, backup and disaster recovery, ENG news gathering, network monitoring, and broadcast distribution workflows”
