Chyron releases Paint 9.9 with sharper visuals and smoother workflows for sports telestration
Chyron has released Paint 9.9, the latest evolution of its telestration and sports analysis platform. It is said to deliver superior video quality, streamlined workflows and expanded functionality.
“Paint 9.9 brings the HDR capabilities of Prime to telestration and replay, ensuring consistent, high-quality visuals across Chyron’s ecosystem. With real-time tool updates, and support for six HD inputs or three in 4K, Paint remains a powerful, standalone solution for sports analysis – no third-party servers required,” said Andreas Olsson, product manager for Paint.
Previously supported in live video workflows, enhanced HDR capabilities now extend to clip import/export, integrating into the workflow for fast transfers and efficient content management without disrupting production. Optimised HDR workflows improve tone mapping and colour precision, making HDR content creation effortless. These upgrades ensure true-to-life colours and broadcast-ready visuals, helping broadcasters maintain high-quality sports analysis and coverage.
Real-time tool updates enhance workflows, allowing operators to adjust graphics seamlessly. This improvement leads to smoother, more precise telestration, reducing manual corrections and promoting an efficient workflow.
With its expanded input options of up to six HD inputs or three 4K UHD inputs, Paint 9.9 is now an even more powerful tool for sports broadcasting and analysis. Additionally, users can incorporate dynamic, multi-layered graphics, such as logos, team colours, and headshots, into their broadcasts with Paint 9.9. This version enhances the label tool, offering improved functionality and flexibility. Each graphic element can be independently animated for a customised and professional appearance.
With these recent updates, Paint serves as a complete, standalone replay and telestration solution, minimising the reliance on third-party replay systems. Already suited for coverage of a wide range of sports, Paint now also offers calibration specifically for the sport of snooker, increasing its utility to all sports.
